Our play based curriculum supports the development of the whole child – socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Foundation

Our school is founded in the beliefs supported by National Association of the Education of the Young Child. We are an accredited school, meeting the stringent criteria set by this advocacy group for young children.

Our play based curriculum supports the development of the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. We respect each child’s unique learning style, abilities and developmental level. We believe that hands-on learning, where the curriculum can emerge from the children’s interests, needs and desires, allows a child to learn in a way that is concrete and meaningful and consistent with child development experts. Environment & Curriculum

Children thrive in an environment where there is trust and support. True learning cannot be achieved until the child feels secure, loved and accepted in the school environment. We strive to foster a sense of competency and independence as children work through the emotional stages of childhood including developing initiative and a sense of competence. > more

We believe the curriculum must be appropriate for the different stages of development. Our school is arranged by centers that are open-ended and provide a wide variety of materials for children to explore. The schedule we use is designed to have few transitions so children can work and play without interruption.

Parent Education

Parent education is central to our philosophy of teaching the whole child. We work in partnership with our families to offer support and guidance in the challenges of parenting. Parents have a unique opportunity to observe and participate in their child’s growing development.
